pulled the module off. the connectors basically desintegrated in my hands. got the connectors off and the wires were corroded pretty bad. doesnt matter if it tests out ok, i still have to get a new one b/c the connectors broke off. think this could be the issue?

here's a pic of what it looks like. connects on botttom are green. says duraspark ignition "tested tough" on the side. i feel like this has never been replaced

Yep. Napa has connectors if you need new ones for the harness side.

3 pin – Napa ECH EC72

That could be your problem, not sure if they can still test it but take it with you anyway and see, plus you will have something to match up to the new one.

Bronco starts and runs good. the only question i have now is that the alternator gauge shows its charging at 60 when i hit the gas, and a little under 30 when im idling. is that normal?

Amp guage, the one on the speedo cluster or do you have an acutal voltage alternator guage?

Could be normal if the battery was drawn down. If it doesnt read lower after a half hour or so of driving then you may have something draining the battery and it causing the alternator to put out high amps or maybe the regulator is bad. You could be overcharging. might want to take it down to a parts store and have them test the system.

Regulator is 9 months old. Alternator is 7. Wasn't doing this with the old module,

Yeah, you probably cranked the starter quite a bit trying to get it going. Give it a little driving time to charge the battery back up.
