So heres the deal...71 Bronco, the one i did a complete restoration on, was rear ended yesterday. Long story short, not my fault, when i was rear ended i was pushed into the truck infront of me which cause front end damage too.

At the moment I am trying to gather as much information as possible to show the insurance company that my Bronco is worth more then what the Blue Book value is. (They havent yet gave me an offer, however i know that it is not going to be near what its worth. I have a feeling they are going to try and total it for a much smaller amount then it should be). To give you guys an idea of its worth, I was looking at selling it for around 15K before this happend.

Anyways, what I need from you guys is:

A Picture of your Bronco
-The actual selling price of it (what you payed for it)
-The year you bought it
-The location

Also if you have the same information of a Bronco that you sold, that would be great too.

Thanks for your help guys.

Nick~

Dude, Nick, that sucks! I know how much work you put into that thing! Post up some pics of the damage, etc. You back home for the summer?

If you have the receipts of what you spent during the restoration along with an estimate of your time, you should present that...

My friend had a chevelle that the insurance company(geico) tried to screw him on. The amount they OFFER you is just that, an OFFER. You can renegotiate and make them watch a couple of auctions on ebay and check the back of Bronco Driver in the for sale section. My friend got what his car was worth since it was not his fault he just told them "buy me one just like mine for 1,500(their offer) and I will take it, otherwise give me 12,500 to replace it". I pray for you that the other guy has State Farm Insurance, they absolutely rock. Good luck!

Your best bet is to find an appraiser that specializes in classic cars and have them do a complete appraisal. It will cost you a few bucks, but if you have as much in you rig as I do in mine then it would be worth it to make sure you are treated fair.

I just talked to my Ins. company about this yesterday. In order to get a resonable amount from them if it is totaled or stolen I HAVE to have it appraised and then the policy with be priced to reflect the appraisal.

Post some specs of your rig and we can give you some estimates from there. If you were asking 15K, I wouldn't take mch less than that.

Not your fault so get the other person's insurance company to replace it with something comparable.

If they can't find one tell to look harder.

They will total your bronco because of the age. Your receipts will help...

What you should do next time is get it appraised "high" and insure it for that amount. That way if anything happens you have a set amount to fall back on. I had my 67 Camaro appraised for $20,000 and listed it as a low milage weekend car - I pay $300 a year. Did the same thing for one of my Broncos.
