Well I couldn't stand it any longer. Every time I looked at the chewed dash (radio area) I had to do something about it. Well today was the day. I took a break from the rest of the restoration and tackled replacing the metal where the radio mounts. Took about 2-3 hours to start to finish with still a little tweaking to do. Now I can install a factory radio with the new holes. (just need to find one).

So while I was bored just looking at all the work I have to do on the Bronco to get it the way I want it to look I sanded down a portion of the upper quarter to get some motivation. I found a color close to original and sprayed it and then cleared it. Wet sanded and buffed it. Motivation at a high level now...;D

Borrowed a rotisserie from a friend of mine and bolted up the bronco on it. This should make the restoration a whole lot easier. I should of done this a long time ago when I was restoring Trans Ams.

I thought the underside of the bed was a little rusty until I wire wheeled it. Then I realized it was just the mud that was on top of the metal. Cleaned off the dust with a rag and this if what it looks like. I also took some pictures of the paint color that was used for the primer. I was thinking about getting the tintable raptor liner and spray it on with the tint color of the primer in the picture for underneath.

Update:

Been a while since updates so here I go:

Drivers floor pans welded in(need some final clean up). Test fitting inner and outer rocker panels. Replacing some bad metal around inner wheel well where po had cut it to make larger opening. Same thing on passenger side.

Test fitting passenger wheel tub and test fitting rear quarter panel that I had to replace from the one I bought from cjs (the panel was terrible fit) the new panel came from Dennis Carpenter which was spot on.

Dennis carpenter...I've used CJs stuff not as good as carpenter

I was going to just patch my inner fender apron on the driver's side like I did on the passenger side but then I had the apron so why not use it. So I did. Now I just need to check measurements and weld it together.

The fender apron is welded together and test fitted the fenders to make sure everything lined up correctly. So far so good.I even installed the front grill. It's starting to shape up like a Bronco.....Just have to line up the fender well and weld it up. Will wait until I get all the engine compartment metal sanded and primed before I do that.

Getting after it...Had my daughter wire wheeling the fire wall. Things are starting to move along. Test fitting the battery tray and brackets.

Moving steadily along. This nylon round attachment to the drill makes thing a lot faster and less dangerous then using the metal kind.
