Got some more work done yesterday. Cut the back off the cage and did a test fit of the top. I need to rework the bottom just a little but the rest look to line up nice. Today a little more welding and on to mud.

Got some more work done this weekend. I suck at body work, I alway put to much filler on and then take to much off. In the two days I used one quart of Metal to Metal and a cup of spot putty. After cleaning up and emtying the shop vac there was amost a gallon of dust in it, any how it's looking nice and as straight as it's going to get. Next weekend I'll block it and do one more test fit and then pull the cage out so I can finish it up, then start to build the bulkhead.

That is really sweet. As I have a 1/2 cab I'll never do that top But I think that would be better than the stock top, because you could get a little more leg room or room behind the seat. But I think I'd want the small side windows Flat glass doesn't cost for that size..But you should have more sight out you back glass so that may fix the blind spot.
...Can you give us a picture from the rear. So I can see how that top blends together .. I do understand how that would be tough body work..How are you going to make a head liner. I need one for my 1/2 cab but stock ones have no braces in them for the liner to connect to.

I gave up on the back window sliding down into the bulkhead[for now anyway] for now the back liftgate and window will be used. I added a second brace from the full top, so now the top has two and I filled the gap between the brace and the top sheet metal with expandable spray foam. more pic's next weekend.

Will after a couple of weeks off[ not by choice] I'm back to work on the half cab. Today is the last test fit so I can drill the mounting holes and check the cage clearance. Next weekend it's time to paint.

I got the paint done today. I'm a little behind on updates, so some updates, last weekend I made the headliner and ordered some nuts, bolts and some clips for the headliner. Gota love McMaster Car. I have ordered carpet and it should be here this week. Had a fuel leak at the fuel fliter so ordered a new EFI filter it's a little shorter than the old one so I'll have to redo a line to make it fit. back to the paint, after some back and forth thinking I went with Dupilcolor paint shop. Primer, color and clear coat. Not to bad but time will tell.

Man that looks great! I have 2 projects already going on, but I also have another full top that is taking up space. Maybe I should shorten it and that would justify it with the wife? %)

Another update. The paints on, I'm not to happy with it but will see after the color sanding. Also the headliner is started to go in. Heading to Mammoth Lakes for some R&R and then get back on the top. got the ACC carpet in looks good but a little short at the kick panels about 1" on each side. Add a some sheet metal between the bow in the roof so I can add a dome light later. The underside is shot with sound deadiner and spray foam inbetween the bows and roof skin.

Man that turned out sweet! It looks factory. Having the rear liftgate with shocks on it is nice when opened. You get the fresh air and can keep the rain off your neck!;D Great job.
