here's my "recipe"
Early 70's 351W from a ranchero, why? I got the whole thing for $300.00.
The engine was already bored .30 over, so after sonic testing the block we bored it .60 over. Next came the scat crank to make it a 393 + with the bore. The rods were reused after reconditioning (shot peened, magnaflux) The pistons are badger hyperutectic with hasting rings and recessed with a cup to give about 9.7 compression ratio. The cam is a xtreme energy xe262h with roller rockers. I used magnum push rods and edelbrock rpm aluminum heads #60229.
The timing set is a roller also. The intake is an edelbrock rpm with an edelbrock 600cfm carb. Fuel pump and water pump are also edelbrock with a different base on the fuel pump to have the lines clear the block. It has a ford electronic ignition with mallory box. I have about $3000.00 in the engine. I didn't get it dynoed but figure it should put out around 400 hp and torque. I bought most of the parts from Lesco Automotive Industries and had the machine work done locally. I'll let everyone know how it runs next summer when I get it installed in my 68 bronco.
