Good find looks like. I had forgotten the plastic ones. And we had sold them quite often back in the day. Never saw one with no holes in it before though.
So you can put your own holes wherever then? That should work nicely.

That must've been a serious search you performed Ohio_Bronco! How did you finally find it? Just out of curiousity I searched to see what else I could find and came up with lots of interesting stuff. But under "steering" and "suspension" alignment products, I only found Raybestos and AC Delco alignment shims with holes.
Did you just search "Moog" instead?
Either way, good find. Thanks

Paul

Mine came and I have them installed. Nicely made all steel product, ordered from ATS using part numbers in post #11. They said they had 60 sets left in different degrees when I got mine.

I was looking for a while online. Lots of silly stuff coming up. These would be a good thing to be carried/produced by our vendors (hint hint)

I bought those, they aren't steel. www.alltiresupply.com sells steel ones.

Yeah, we've used the nylon/plastic ones before. They actually work pretty OK, but like I said, I don't think they hold up quite to the abuse that some of us would put on them with larger tires and hard use.
For me, or someone with a LUBR or DD, or just smaller tires, they'd probably work fine.
Ordered one from my usual auto parts store this morning just to see what they were like. The old Moog part number for the 5-bolt spindles is still in the book, but comes up as discontinued in the computer. As we already knew of course (but I had to check anyway!).

Still though, good to know you got the steel ones and they're what was expected Doyle. Sounds like a plan.
And yes, I've been asking that question of the vendors for about 8 years but haven't seen much come up.
Just sent e-mails to 2 of my machinist/fab connections to see what it would take. I'll post up what they say.
As long as ATS still has 60 sets or so, a few more of us will have easy access to a cure.
Might have to post that info as some sort of sticky. Maybe a "parts you need and where to get them" thread? Don't we have something like that somewhere?

Oh, what part number did you end up getting Doyle? And what did yours end up costing? If you don't mind me asking. Same as what was in that previous post, or different?

Thanks

Paul

I am looking these things over, they seem pretty durable. They are to be mounted between the spindle and Knuckle. What about 76/77 with the disc caliper braket? I believe the spacer/shim should probably mount between the knuckle and the caliper bracket then the spindle onto the caliper bracket. Any thoughts?

Dirtdonk,
I ordered the 44-160, 1 3/8* shims thru ATS. They are a nicely made all steel product. Cost was $29 each plus a little over $5 for the shipping. Took about 5 business days to arrive. Very pleased with the product, just wish it hadn't taken so long to find a source. Thanks again to 76RedRanger for the assist.

Between the knuckle and caliper bracket is the way I did it on the 76. The caliper and rotor wouldn't be aligned the other way. I haven't had any problems stopping since I installed them (2 yrs).
