Make sure your truck has a 180 degree thermostat, put in fresh plugs and drive the thing. after 1000 miles pull your plugs and reaccess your situation. Your engine was just washed with gas so who knows whats really going on. The compression is good so life is good if there was something really bad going you would see it in the compression reading.
check and make sure your valve cover is properly vented and the PVC is working properly. If oil is still a problem pull a valve cover and make sure the drain down holes in the heads are not plugged with sluge or broken valve stem seals and not allowing the oil to drain down as it should. if oils sits on top too long it will get sucked down the valve guides.
dont use any 10w-XX oil use straight 30 weight or 20w-XX oil. old motors were not designed for 10w oil there is too much bore taper and crappy valve seals to handle light weight oil.
