Hello coming closer to starting the bronco but can't figure out this puzzle of linkages and don't even have a return spring can I just buy one at hardware store? Anyways, any photos appreciated don't know what type of carb it is it doesn't seem To say on the exterior. It's just a regular 2 barrel intake and carb standard three speed. Any help could get me started..

Hey Jeremy. There is another thread from not long ago (a week or so maybe?) that has good images of the stock throttle linkage hooked up.
If I'm not mistaken, the rod in your hand is attached to the throttle bellcrank just behind it on the firewall (which is attached to the pedal by a short rod too).
To the left in the pic (inboard) the other half of that linkage that your rod is already hooked to, connects with another rod to a stationary bracket on the firewall behind the engine.
If it's not there, you might see the two holes for it on the firewall.
Then a third rod connects the other end of the lever your existing rod is on, to the carburetor's linkage. This one connects to the bottom of the arm on the carburetor, pushing it forward.
If your carb does not have the right linkage, you might just have to hook it up directly to the bell-crank so that it pulls the lever arm on the carb instead.
Like most other vehicles do.

Good luck. Much better description than I can give you by finding that thread and looking at the associated images.

I did a Windsor swap and struggled with that linkage. Finally gave up and spent the 69 bucks on a Lokar throttle cable (BC and JBG has them). Works beautifully and looks great too.

Sorry I can't see your picture well enough But yes just go to a parts store and tell them you need a throttle spring .. 3.00 and you'll be fixed up.

New problem

Ok so my problem is my set up doesn't have the correct bracket to pull back as the top drives forward. See pict. So would my only option be to use a lokar type linkage to the knob?? Or where could I find a bracket that would have the top connection that would drive forward?

The easiest fix is to simply use the rod from the bottom hanging lever to the hole below the throttle shaft on the carb to push the throttle open. This rod is not in your photo but is in the photos on the threat referenced above. Look for it. It's about 6" long with a 90 degree bend at each end.
If you can't find all the parts just run a longer rod from the bell crank to the ball stud on the carb. Tom's Bronco Parts can set you up either way.

I got tired of messing with the linkage issue and got a cable from a Bronco II. Had to shorten the cable slightly but it worked great AND it was an 'Factory Ford Bronco Part';D
