And in case you didn't notice, I'm not giving you a hard time. That's just jealousy rearing it's ugly head!
Love the shop and the location. Can't wait to see what cool stuff starts coming from Kalamazoo.

The friend that built the buggy with the carbon-fiber hood (was just up for sale by one of the members here last month in fact) commented that you wouldn't have to worry too overmuch about the hood brace locations. With CF, and probably a 10lb weight (the red Bronco's hood was 7lbs), you probably don't even need the braces anymore!
So some very simple bracing in whatever location you choose should be PMP (pretty much perfect) for what's needed.

Thinking about it further down the road, I could seen the need for longitudinal braces for those that will insist on using gas struts even with a 10lb hood.
I know I'd likely swing that way too, just for convenience and cool factor, but they're certainly not needed when the hood is so light. But would also serve to retain the hood should it pop up in the wind while working with the prop rod.

Lots of fun thinking about such things during the design process!:)

So just a little update on the pole barn projects. My dad and I decided that the new barn would be best suited as primarily for storage now. The new barn has opened space in our existing barn and we decided this barn would be best suited to partition off and insulate. It just makes sense as it's already wired for electric and our hoist is in there! Were using r-3foam board on the walls and r-13 in the rafters so it should do a pretty good job of keeping the place toasty in the winter here while we get things done! The overall layout is a 20x10 workshop area for all our tools (drill press, band saws, bench grinders, desks) and a 15x20 area that can be used for working on the bronco its or laying up our fiber parts.

Theres an overhang to the left of the bronco in this photo that accounts for the 10x20 area and then the area in front of the bronco will have a 7x8 garage door in front and then a wall will be put in to the right of the bronco

We picked the coldest week to start, I believe it was 8 degrees the week we started on framing in the overhang area

Well, today I cleaned up the molds and thought I'd put them to the test. I was thinking I could crank out a few door panels and hood scoops before super celebration but I'm having issues with holding a seal on the door panel mold. I think I need to add some more reinforcements to it as I think the vac is pulling and warping the mold a tad. Anyways, time will tell, if you see some fancy parts at SC you'll know I pulled it off in time!
