Just got word today that the 40x40 barn is going up Nov. 30th. If any one has pics or blue prints of their shops I would love to see them!

You could probably improve the hood inner structure. Go more of the modern sideways "K" to add triangulation and leave room for air cleaners and such. Box the leading edge up to the core support so you can just add a simple rubber weatherstrip for sealing (right over the hood prop rod) and that should help engine cooling by controlling airflow. If you think about it and plan a little there are improvements that can be made and still look like a normal hood on top.

If I end up doing a hood I'll definitely move the one hood brace down a bit so that guys running the HDI distributors won't have to notch the hood to get it to fit right!

Hood and top for me. And maybe door panels. But I still need to get some doors. Lol

Lol is only for the door panels.

Best of luck with your new shop.

I'd be interested in door panels; any chance of rear quarter panels as well?

Not any time soon, but i thought about making them. You'd def have to panel bond them in place. The door panels are just the interior trim panel not the whole door or skin, in case thats what your thinking?

These guys do an amazing job. They just put in a few Ag barns down the road from us and they are quick and very reasonable on the price. It will be a 40x40x16 w/ a 12x14 door w/ a price tag of about $22k. They be back Monday and should be finished by Monday night or Tuesday afternoon

He's just pulling our legs. That's not a footing for a building, he's using a patented and super secret special semi-lost sand-casting process where the molds are formed in the ground. Pour in the resins, stir, repeat, bury and then dig up with auger.
Very quick process and saves a TON of money on casting media.

Very clever those Nor'westerners!;D

I'd be interested in a Carbon Fiber hood. Especially seeing as you're within driving distance.:)

I haven't cleaned the wax off of it yet but the hood scoop looks really good! Hopefully this winter I can punch out a few and have them all cured and ready to go by spring along with the door panels. Here's a little preview
