Cat Converter Advice

I'm thinking of putting in a cat converter in to kill the fumes and deaden some of the sound. Does anybody know of a tough, high flow 3" in and out cat that will work?

Thanks,

cat will not do either of the things you mention, it only works to reduce emissions.

You may want to get a better tune if fumes are an issue.

But (after that) if you want to try, Car Sound cats used to be the best flowing cats. I believe they got bought out by Magnaflow.

For a cat to work the engine has to be in relitivle well tune to start with. If you have too much hydrocarbon going through now (which is usually the "fumes" people complain about) the cat will eat them too fast, melt down and die.

I used a random technology (I think) metal matrix cat on my stroker Ranger. It was EFI and with a big cam and heads. it would pass smog. the engine was also tuned with a chip. It has very minimal muffling to it.
