I am going to buy a new wiring harness. I cant justify buying a painless one but the Centech looks like a good harness.
If you have one are you happy with it, if not why? Would you recommend buying one or go with something else?

Any input would be greatly appreciated good or bad.
Thanks in advance!

I do not use any of the Bronco specific harness for my builds for my own reasons, I like to package and route things cleaner than the factory did plus I add goodies to the vehicles and a stock harness is just not enough. With that said, I have seen several of the Centech and if I was building a stock bronco, I would have no problem using the centech. They are a decent harness. I do have to agree with you, the painless looks nice but I feel they are way over priced considering.

I used a centech in my Bronco and have installed several painless harnesses and frankly I dont think painless is worth the price. Centech is easy to install and does the job for half the price.

I installed the centech harness on my 74 and was impressed at how easy it was.

What year is your Bronco langester?
Depending on the year, earlier models ('66 through '70) will typically have just a bit more work to do to fit the Centech (or any for that matter) Bronco-specific harness, and will no longer have the same routing as original. If you have a'71 or later, the changes to routing are only minimal. Mainly to do with the engine sensors and ignition.

I used the Centech and other than lengthening a few of the ignition wires so I could route them more cleanly I've been happy with it.

I used a centech in my '68. It was not bad to install pretty straight forward every wire is labeled to where it goes. It took me two days to install it working a few hours at a time. I did not have to lengthen any wires in mine everything reached for me. You have have to cut some shorter as they make some wires longer than needed. I would buy one again if I did another build. I couldn't afford a painless when the centech is half the price. Hit me up if you have any issues during install if you get it and I'll try to help.

I lengthened a lot of wires on my last install. Not because they were too short to use, but too short to run the way I wanted to.
I ran all the alternator, engine sensor and ignition wires all the way to the front, then across the alternator to the engine as one bundle. Nothing over the top or across the firewall. Came out pretty clean.

I don't like the added splices of course, but wanted to try this routing to see how it would work out.

I have Centechs in my Broncos after the recommendation of a friend who has installed many wiring harnesses. I helped with the installation and it was really simple and straight forward. I was willing to pay the extra money for an easier install but it would've been money wasted for me and my application to pay more.

My Bronco is a 72. Frame up rebuild so I can run things just about anywhere. Sounds like the Centech might be the ticket. The other ones look good but the price is killing me. Thanks for all the feedback, I really appreciate it! You guys are always there with the knowledge I am looking for!

I have done half dozen or more centech installs, stock Bronco its a decent harness, some things I do not like but they are not show stoppers, do not use their ignition switch get the kit for the stock switch or adapter, if using aa tuffy box the tuffy box needs cut and an insulator installed, good for the price

Painless complete, good instructions high price, I did one of these

Ron Francis - price about the same as centech, very flexable for installed options, pick as you buy to piece together, Fuse box will be a custom location, I cut the speaker grill & ash tray out and made a cover plate. as with centech do not use the lawn mower switch for the ignition switch might need to buy the centech adapter and slpice it in, or see if they have something to work with a stock switch.

I love be my Centech. It's a high quality harness and easy to install. And their customer service has been top notch! They helped me over the phone with several modifications over the years.

Centech here. Only one ive used but seemed to be great quality. I routed mine a little different to clean it up. If you run the wires through the kick and on the outside of the inner fender yoi could hide the wires completely. Wish i would have. May go back and do it one day. I ran mine unddr the lip of the fenders. It hides them for the most part.
I can get you some better pics of you want me to.

Thanks

Looked at a 69' Bronco this weekend a guy bought and restored. He said he knows zero about vehicles, but he HAD to have a Bronco. He bought the Centech, installed it himself, cranked right up and everything works. He said If he could do it, ANYBODY could. I had your same questions but after seeing the Centech this guy installed, I will definitely take it for the diff in price. Broncs were built with 5 circuits, Centech has 11 circuits. Should be more than enough.
