• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

Hey Bronco Nation,

As some of you know, I am looking for a bronco. I'm sure I'm speak for a lot of people when I ask:

If I were to walk up to a dealership or private seller (trying to acquire the appropriate amount of information need to make a wise choice),

what is a good check list to carry with me for questioning?

Well with a budget of 8K. Your going to want an engine, a transmission, a few tirez. You need to decide whats important to you...Ask yourself that question...Then grab the auto trader and start searching.....You will want to stay away from used car lotz as THEY NEED TO PROFIT EVERYTIME THE FRONT DOOR OPENZ.....Once you find one either on this site or...the papers....Find a bronco nut here that would be willing to give your choice bronco a good sniff....goodluck in your hunt...

With an $8K budget what you'll find in that range will probably have some flaws. Would you rather deal with mechanical issues or do body work? Hunt long and hard, and it may be only minor, brake shoes, tune up, maybe paint. Main issue to look for is rust. Front floors, door posts, rear sides of engine compartment where inner fender overlaps the kick panel, quarter seams, etc... Look it over well. If interior is bed lined crawl around and check floors underneath. If recently painted look for anything indicating body filler. Like said in previous post check your area for any Bronco addicts, most are glad to help you inspect one. Good luck with the hunt.

Avoid rust, to many are fairly rust free to waste your time on that "cheap" rust bucket. That said, if you are good at body welding, disregard previous.

Second point, avoid the rebuilt bronco unless you know the source and get references. Avoid highly modifieds unless that's what you want.

Best option is to buy the most bronco you can get that is in the best shape and closest to what options you want, I know that sounds obvious, but lots of folks start to buy cheap thinking they will save, when in the long run you end up spending more. Don't Ask me how I know.
