Do a search on this site, there are hundreds of postings about Chevy disk conversions. Also check the tech articles.

Parts needed:
spindles, backing plate, caliper, brake line and banjo bolt from:
late '72 to early '77 Blazer Chevy 1/2 ton.
'74-'76 jeep J-10, Cherokee or wagoneer.
Ford hub & rotor from a '76-86 Bronco or f-150 advance & Autozone used to have the hub & rotor assembly for about $30 ea but someone posted that Autozone was not stocking them anymore.

You don't need the knuckles, but you do need GM spindles.
Basic instructions are...
Ford parts up to and including the knuckles. Spindles out are GM parts except the rotor is a Ford part. Little stuff like hubs and wheel bearings interchange. the Ford/GM marrage on the fluid side is where the rubber line attaches to the axle.

Here is the article from the tech section on the left of this board.

There is also an article on a different routing of the GM caliper lines listed to the left in the "more tech" section as well

Inner and outer wheel bearings...

Also do a search for Cardone and Bendix here. i should remember, but I don't and made the mistake and bought the wrong brand. The wrong brand puts your caliper inlet where it pinches the line on your radius arm, and let me tell you, that wasn't fun!

OK I am preparing to swap a Wildhorses (chevy?) disc brake equipped EB D44 into my 77 (its got ARB's, 4.56's, etc)...

I have all the parts except the banjo bolts... the ones that the parts store brought in, 73 K1500, do not fit - too large, but a 3/8" coarse will thread in nicely though. The Motoman article lists the chevy banjos as 7/16-20x1-1/16... Which is what the parts store ones appear to be.

Anyone aware of a caliper using a 3/8" coarse banjo? What does my 77 Ford disc axle use?

Malcolm,

I have a kit on the way so I needed to get brake lines and banjo bolts. I went to the pick-u-part on Barlow TR and found calipers with two different sizes of banjo bolts so I'm going to wait and see what calipers are coming with the kit. If you know it's 3/8 coarse then you will find some there.
BTW where did you get your brake lines from, was it here in Calgary?

I called Wildhorses, they weren't sure as the calipers come with the banjo bolts. Turns out the later Chevy calipers use a Metric 10 bolt, at least thats what fits mine - it is close to 3/8" NC.

Picked up a pair at the local parts store, and some washers, now to see if my Earls lines with banjo ends from my 77 axle will fit. I got them at Mopac on 16th Ave some time ago, they usually have them on the shelf.
