Hi all,
Looked for this info but phone won't let me search...
Getting ready to do front disc conversion on my 68 LUBR with manual brakes. I have the chevy caliper brackets and spindles, buying loaded calipers and Ford front hub/rotors/seals.
Need to still figure out:
Front hoses.
Master cylinder.
I'm ok with keeping it manual, unless I change my mind after driving it.
Sorry if this has already been covered.
Lisa.

If memory serves.... Hoses for the same 72-76 Blazer. MC from a '76 ford f250 camper special w/dual piston calipers.

The venders have these hoses. Look for the ones for the GM specific conversion. I am doing the same thing and got the braided ones from JBG. They have a threaded end on them that is 5/8 18 thread. Ken

The stock Chevy hoses work fine. I pulled my calipers from the local junk yard and simply used the hoses that came with them.

The factory 68 MC should work if it is still good.
Just make sure that the residual valve is removed from it (if it has one- some do some don't)

I used the chevy hoses, but they attached to the axle differently than how the originals did.

There is also the slight chance that your loaded calipers *might* be slightly different.
The ones I bought had metric fittings on one and standard on the other.
(Now my EB is like a mid 90's ford-metric & SAE all in one...%) )

Factory master cylinder will feel and work better with manual brakes. That big bore camper special will make for a rock hard pedal with no travel. It will stop, but will take big calfs to do so. The bigger bore will require more pedal pressure to achieve the same line pressure.

You will need the Blazer banjo bolts and the copper washers for each side of the hose block.

Sounds like I should stick with the original mc and yank the residual pressure valve. We did this on our 72 f100 with a d44, is there anything different with the d30? The d44 had ball joints, d30 has king pins.

I'd definitely use that as your starting point.
