Clearance issue using explorer fuel rail

Okay, finally got a decent 96 fuel rail to clean up the front of the engine when I used the mustang rail. I am using the soft line adapter and it looks like that's what's hitting the firewall. Do they make a 90 degree adapter?? Is my engine not sitting right? Anyone have this issue? Thanks!!

Find a local tubes and hoses guy to cut the springlock off and braze on an AN fitting pointing the way you want it to go.

I've had luck carefully bending those, but only do it if you're ready to replace it. IIRC The 5.0 truck rail fits best.

Got it heated and turned. Going to have to order that fitting above and then they make a female AN 6 that screws on to that with a 3/8 barb to pick up my fuel line. Thanks!

Can you describe heating method? Time? Heat source? Bending force? Etc?

Thx

Hank

You can run 5/16 hard brake line, and use I/F barbs with HP Fuel hose. Some of the F150's came with stainless covered lines as well.

I just used a propane torch I had in the garage. I guess maybe 3-4 minutes of heat and I just stuck a larger Philips head screw driver in the line with light pressure and once I could start to move it I gave it another 20 seconds of heat and turned it easily with a little more force.

If I had the time I'd surely like to run hard line. I needed it up and running for this move. I have EFI soft line ran fen the tank. I've never had a leak at the barbs, but had a leak in the 90 degree fitting I had to use to make the mustang stuff work. It was a fitting I got from Lowes and it leaked where it screws together. Shouldn't have any issues with this setup, hopefully! Got the parts ordered and will see next Tuesday.

One thing I looked at was the regulator on the fuel rails are different. The mustang rail is a 3 hole bolt pattern and the explorer is a 2 bolt. I have a nice BBK regulator and pressure gauge on the mustang rail. What are you guys running on the explorer rails?
