clutch fan or regular flex

is there a clutch fan that works well ona 5.0 mustang engine with serp setup? or can i get a flex fan to use? whats the best option?

I dont think there is any possible way to fit a clutch fan in there, i would just go with a flex fan. With my bronco (serp as well) i had to go with a reverse direction fan, they are color coded if you get the flex brand, the reverse direction one is gold, while the normal rotation is blue(along with some others) they go for like 70 bucks. My bronco took a 17" but thats just cause the shroud.

I had a flew fan and the only problem with it was that at high RPM the air flow was near gone due to the blades all the way flattened out.

i have a flex on my 69 and have never had a problem i jsut wasnt sure if it would bolt up to that 5.0 serp stuff easily, is it reverse rotation? could i find a fan like this in the junkyard?

I used a Derale 17" 17617 reverse rotation flex fan. I had to modify a spacer to maximize fan to radiator clearance. I have slightly less than 1/4" between the fan and the bolt on the tensioner. Since than engine side of the fan blades flatten out and move toward the front it is not a problem. I have about 1 1/2" between the fan and radiator.
