Compressor options for ARB's?

The specs on the new ARB compressor are pretty impressive. The price is pretty shocking also  If all you're doing in providing pressure to the ARBs, I think the ARB compressor will suffice. If you plan on doing anything else, VIAIR seems to be the way to go. I'm thinking about adding a second VIAIR because I get impatient filling up the tires ;)

I'm El Cheapo and am running one of these mounted on driver's inner fender. you have to get a braided line coming out of the compressor running to a nearby manifold because the hose gets really hot. got an ARB up front and air tank mounted in the system for filling tires. compressor is five yrs old and hasn't hiccuped yet. not as good as a York compressor or maybe a Viair but very simple and for $69 it is well worth it. price now about $10 higher.

This is the same one I run for my tires. Its a decent product., but its fairly slow.

I won a Shitty-built model that is similar at a run at the Badlands last fall. I had to rewire it, replace the switch and now the hose has an obstruction...stay away from Smittybuilt. It now sits on the shelf.

If you have the space to store a tank, then there are several of these small, inexpensive units that will work...but without a stoarge tank, its a slow process for airing up tires.

The new ARB's specs are impressive, but the cost is retarded.

In my opinion, if you havent bought a winch yet, I would score the Warn winch/compressor combo.

Otherwise, keep it simple...go with the CO2 mini-tanks.

I run an engine-driven York compressor. It not only powers the ARB but it will air up tires very fast and even run air tools. One of these days I need to get the train horn mounted up :D

I was gonna do that, but I got lazy and bought the Viair pump. Didn't want to mess with the brackets and moving things around. I wish I would have though, the York will air up tires a whole helluva lot faster than the pump I've got.

Have run one of mine for a good 8 years now at 120....no problems.

I have a 120 psi switch on mine as well and have been running it without a regulator for three years with no problems.

I see some bringing up the York option....that is the best option IMO if you want to go to that amount of work for on board air. I have put tires back on the bead with a York without a storage tank! They flat put out the volume. They also put out a lot of room under the hood and require the engine to be running.....;)
