I almost ordered a currie 9" today. I was going to go the full crate axle route so I could just remove the old one and install a brand new assembly. I called and got a price quote a couple of months ago. The quote was for a 35 spline 9" with 4.30 gear, Detroit true trac, drain plug, explorer disk brakes, and powder coat. It was around $4400. I was going to pick it up and save on freight since it's only around a 2 hour drive.
I know I can probably piece it together cheaper, but I would still need to pay for assembly. I have never built an axle assembly, and I wouldn't want to take the chance of destroying new parts due to bad assembly.
Have any of you guys ever bought a custom crate axle for your bronco? Were you happy with the results?
