I'm not offering it as a welded assembly. Kit only. It does come with a photo instruction CD if you need to get it made somewhere.

Custom bumper set

Typically, how much weld time does just a front bumper require?
Would you happen to have a pic of how the kits arrive-out of the box, unwelded/unassembled?
I'm interested in one of your front bumpers.
Thanks

Hers a pic of both unassembled.

Man those are some good looking bumpers. Are you back ordered on them?

No back order. We're ready...

I had both front and rear welded together in five 2-3 hour nights. I didn't complete the tire carrier, but the center sections and wings were done with the front being ground down and smoothed over. I didn't rush it either. I took lots of pictures to document to build and took my time making sure it was all square. This could be a weekend project.

Re: Custom bumper set

Not at all, just buy a little mig welder and bottle of gas and Start burning it in. Mig welding is pretty simple, easy to do, you can do it.

Mig welding is easy...practice first on some scrap. If you know of someone who welds, see if they'll show you or do it for you.

Was looking forward to getting the WIY kit, but unfortunately that price takes me out. Going to spend the same money on a preassembled/welded bumper.

Any idea if the manufacturing cost will come down with demand? If cost comes down below larger manufactures prices before I buy, I'll be all over it.

If I was making hundreds, sure. I'm thinking on making in the low 10's-20's range. Not much I can do with cutting production costs at that level. If I was at my old job, it would be less expensive, but I'm not. I'm sorry its too much if you. I hope you find what you like.

Re: Custom bumper set

For guys that want a similar product who can't weld, the company below is an option. WARNING, they are SLOW to ship and do not have the best customer service record. That said, they did take care of me and the bumpers are very nice and great pricing.

That's kind of a crappy thing to do in the guys 'for sale' thread!

I removed my reference to the other company, I was simply trying to provide an option for those who could not weld. Not to aggravate the original poster, being honest at this price there are just lots of good options.

Maybe I missed the post on this, but were you still planning on selling the plans and letting people build these on their own? I imagine most people would go that route(myself included)
