I need to have several custom torque converters made for 6r80 transmissions.

Any recommendations for QUALITY & reputable companies?

Not looking for a company that just makes a different stall speed for a C4.

Bit more complex but for the time to R&R on my rig (6+ hrs) I don't want to be a test mule on these.

Thanks all.

Stock f150 unless a better option comes up. I have the speed gems adapter, trying to save rotation mass.

the owner of superior is Jerald jeffers, an early bronco owner!

I just talked with him he has a 66. :)

I sent him pictures and some preliminary plans of what would solve the horsepower limits on the PA adapter that are currently on the market.

Very basic changes but I have no idea how much more a physically different sized custom converter costs. About to find out. These will physicallybe a different size than stock.

Thanks for the link.

I know he does stuff for Robert so if I have to (because this all turns into a money sucking pipe dream) he can make my Plan B work.

I need two and I'm sure there would be a limited market but sbf to 6r conversions for any vehicle could really benefit from this.

Talked to TCS. Very helpful. Spent some time on the phone with them and swapped some good ideas.

Circle D makes em for the Mustang & GoFast crowd and I called them today also.

They are checking into seeing if they can change their auto lathes and CNC equip for the specs we discussed. Should know more tomorrow.

Could be looking at a ton of coin for this so I might go with Plan B which is going back to modifying the stock converters. :)

I had a converter built for my c6 by revmax, very happy with it, they build every converter to order. I had a 20-30 minute conversion regarding what I wanted and they hit the stall speed right on the money. Total time from order to receiving it was under 10 days. I don't know if they can build exactly what you're looking for but I wouldn't be surprised, they do build a lot of late model and diesel converters.

I'll call them. Thanks

I was hoping to be able to get a converter for a decent price that would eliminate the need to make exterior mod's to the 6r converters and still have maybe two choices for Bronco 6r to SBF for stall ratings. Tight for stockers and maybe something around 2500 for those of us running higher HP.

I'll know more by next week I hope.

$2K and up.

Ford is doing some funky stuff in the converter making it hard & spendy to duplicate.

I am having to retrofitted so I can use them w/o doing funky stuff to fit.

I am making adapters for sbf to modular 6r tranny's now. Not much different than what's out there as how different can it be?
First prototype came out last week. Should have the real deal in 14 days.

I have simplified it... :)

Nothing fancy, not marketing it or it would have a couple changes.

I did get both converters back. SAE spacing for the flexplate, entirely new converter clutch as mine was starting to flake even tho I don't allow the (TCC) clutch to lock until I'm doing 58mph.

Yes & No.

Putting my new ones on both rigs. Won't change DS or trans mounts on my '68 and let me see how it aligns.

on Shorty it will give me a bit more floor & firewall space and not have that big 6r sitting back 1 1/2" farther than my current adapter. Also since I'm keeping the stock converter I am not adding 13more lbs of rotating mass to an already heavy converter.

I want to come up with some way to enclose the bottom of the converter. Mine stays very clean and shiny because I bury it in the sand and there's no better polishing compound than sand with the converter spinning at 3-5K.

Here's a pic of my sub box that's been installed appr 6yrs. ONLY opening is the grommet for the wiring at the back... I literally laughed at loud when I saw this, hence the pic! :)

I'm asking for ideas on a very dense foam or something similar that I can cut/shape to drop in from above between the top 2 bellhousing bolts and it will stick/stay in place. What I used worked but something maybe a little nicer in appearance. Ssriously- there is probably a hole appr 1/8" x 1/8" btw the wires where they go thru the grommet.
