Can you guys/girls shed some light on how you've cut DDs into your steering shafts? I've cut the straight shaft and now need to notch it. Just want some advice.

Mark the end of the shaft using the U-joint. Then you can grind, saw or mill it. Do it slowly and check for fit often. You want it tight.

I hear you, but want to ensure I understand. Do I place the joint on top of the shaft and mark the shaft from inside the joint? Not sure how I would use it as a guide any other way. Thanks Chuck!

Die grinder worked like a charm. It isn't pretty, but the joint is on tightly. Mismeasured the lower shaft though and will have to cut it again and do it all over again.

Chuck, you mentioned to me earlier that the manual steering box bell attachment should fit on the 4x4x2 box, but I'm having a hell of a time getting it on. Any tricks to getting this darn thing on?

All the 4x4x2 boxes have a 3/4-36 input shaft. All EB's have either a 3/4" or 13/16" input shaft. So if the bell is loose you need to change to a 3/4 U-joint. It sounds like the bell is tight so it has to be the right size so will fit so I guess just wiggle it around? Maybe look for burrs or dents on the end of the bell
