I set mine on jackstands, add C-clamp to jackstands to eliminate wobble.

1-1/8-12 bolt reamed slip fit for 1/2" drill rod in top ear of C, 1/2" drill bushing with 3/4" OD + couple layers of tape is snug fit in the bottom ear tapered hole.

Edited my post above with the link to those big V-Blocks. They're more than I remembered, but given that it's been over a year since I bought them they've likely gone up some.

I think that he must have used catalyzed Imron in Chevy Orange on that housing. No paint stripper available in KA would touch it. Brake fluid didn't bubble it. Even the blast cabinet with fresh "Black Beauty" in it was working overtime to make any headway at all against it. Finally decided that it made an excellent primer, so I scuffed it and now it's black.

I appreciate all the info on fixturing but unfortunately, I'm nowhere near that far along. While I am better, I have a lot of other unfinished projects that take precedence over this one so I'll ask again is there's anyone in GA, western SC, northern FL or even eastern NC up I-95 that could help me out. TIA.
