Dakota Digital Tach setting using Holley Hyperspark

Running into an issue trying to get my Dakota Digital tach to work with Holly Hyperspark. Was running MSD HEI and DD signal was set to 12volts and 8 cylinders. Hooked up to the grey tach output wire, that setting does nothing. Tried per DD tech support to set cylinders down to 1 to see if the tach would do anything. No change, needle does nothing.

Anyone have experience with this combo? Should I be running the 5 volt setting?

I don't have that and might need it, thanks! The DD gauge has a lot of settings so I'm hoping someone will chime in with settings that work. I think if I go through them all, it's 20+ combinations.

I don't know which one you have but have you tried changing settings in the DD Bluetooth app on your phone? There are some things in there that are easier to do.

I'll have to see if I can connect via bluetooth. Right now, just thumbing through the settings using the SW1 button. The DD gauge was installed roughly 2015 and all the inputs are analog wires from sensors so I don't currently read anything from the Sniper 2 with the exception of the tach.

Issue resolved! It was user error.

Connected an old school Sunpro gauge to the grey tach output wire and received a signal. Scratching my head, why does the handheld work and my DD gauge not? Turns out during fuel injection install, I managed to break the tach wire. Fixed that and presto, tach works. Sigh, sometimes I wonder about myself.

I'm glad over the years I've kept all my old testing gauges.

Yeah sometimes as we get engrossed in solving a problem the obvious is just not so obvious. I know I've been victim of this many times over the years.
Glad you got it resolved.
