so update to what happened to my nv3550 install. so I was waiting on getting the twin stick specially for the 3550 dana 20 swap. so I had said that it would not shift to 2 hi I have no idea why it wont I changed nothing internally in that dana 20 it goes into 2 low fine 4 low and front 2 hi. I did not do the independent dent thing so I know I did not screw something up. so what is going on here.

p.s. I know it is not the linkage either. I have read about this problem but no resolution.

About 1 1/2 qts. Low oil won't do it but a backwards input gear will. I assume you had to move that to the new spud shaft. Put it on backwards and it won't drive the rear output in high range.

You're not the first to do it and you won't be the last.

I bet that's it. cant remember exactly but it would be a dumb dumb move on my part.

If you pull the bottom cover you can see if the gear is on wrong.
