Howdy fellow bronco owners,

I took my rig to a brake shop because something was pulling. They broke the front left drum/shoe (probably from banging on it). Anyways, today I purchased a disc conversion kit from Tom's Bronco and was wondering if anyone had any tips, pointers, advice. I want to know how much grinding is necessary for the knuckles and how much time it will take to do the whole job. Any opinions, advice, suggestions will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

JMbronco

I just installed the disc brake conversion from Horsepower sales on Ebay. I think is very similar if not the same as the Toms kit. I didn't have to grind my knuckles at all, but even if you have to it should be very minor. If you are familiar with working on the front axle (ie replaced the wheel bearings, and or replaced the front u-joints) it should take you more than a few hours to complete the job. my biggest issue was that two of my spindle bolt holes on the knuckles were stripped out and wouldn't torque to spec. I had to repair the knuckle on one side and that took extra time.

A Bronco disc brake retrofit? What a novel idea.

Seriously though, this topic has been addressed ad nauseam. Learn to use the search function before appealing for help. No offence meant. Just so typical of younger people in general that expect others to bow to their every whim before making any effort to learn for themselves. This forum has a tremendous data base of text. Learn to use it, then come back and contribute any unique, first hand knowlege you've gained. Capisch?

Wow. Is someone like VTDom really the type person this site wants????? Unreal. I just bought a 66 a week ago and have been asking many questions, and 99.9 % of the guys on here go out of their way to help, give advice, or be sounding boards for newbies or people hitting road blocks. How about this VT, did you give the guy any advice or suggestions on how to really use the search feature to its best use. People are so quick to forget that one day they were newbies. Thank you very much to the 99.9% of the guys who dont blink an eye to help others.
