I did a search and did not find the answer, so I have to ask. Do the nut's that hold the spindle on (not the wheel bearing's) have to be tappered like the stock nut's? Or can I just use grade 8's with lock washer's?? Oh it is a 76 with factory disk brake's. Thank's for the help.

I just used good old (new) grade 8s. I never noticed the originals to be tapered. Probably something to keep the hung-over assembly line workers from cross threading them on monday mornings;)

I think the nuts you are talking about are self locking. Real adult self locking nuts not nyloks.

Spindle nuts are self-locking. I found new ones at the local hardware store (Service Star). They dont like the impact either!
