I’m trying to remove front Dana 30 drum hub. I’ve removed the locking hub, and outer spindle nut, and the locking spacer will come out about 1/3 inch, than gets stuck. I’ve done this several times and never had locking spacer get stuck. I’ve thoroughly cleaned the threads, and put the outer spindle nut back on several times hoping to remove whatever is stopping it. The locking channel where the “key” space is on the hub also appears, and feels burr free. I created several “tools” to put in the holes to pull on the locking spacer, but, I’ve spent the best part of the day fighting this spacer. Help!!!

Sounds like you've been able to "walk" it back and forth by your description. That too? I wonder if the tang on the washer is not fully in the groove? Now that it's clean, can you see that it's for sure in the groove? If not, maybe it just needs a bit of a spin before it'll come the rest of the way out.
