I need to find a pair of tapered spindle shims for a disk / 5 bolt hole dana 44. Anyone got a supplier or a source for these. I had a set but can't find them now.

Good luck with your search. It's very difficult to find the 6" 5 hole shims, JBG has been out for quite a while. Some of the D60's are the same bolt pattern, I ordered some from Rock Auto. A few were correct, some were for the 6 hole GM 60's.

I hope you have better luck than me with the Moog number. As I had to send the 2 back to Amazon as they were the 4 3/4 diameter ones even though the description says 6 inch.

Frisbees it is. The Moog number K974-3 is for a drum brake spindle. I need a K976-3. And I am not finding them.

Hey Bax, I meant to send this the other day. Not sure if this is what you are looking for. These came off a Dana44 Hi Steer knuckle/spindle. Only part number says "no. 5". They are 0.9mm at the thinnest and 2.7mm at the thickest. No idea what they are other than that.

Hozr, Those are for a dana 44 with the drum brake spindles. The # 5 is how much taper is in the shim.

OK what I have learned in the past week looking for a pair of these is: No one has them. It is true that the graveyard has them on their site. However they are on forever backorder, they have zero of them.

The moog number used to be K976-3. That number is no longer good because they stopped making them. Doorman was making them under the part # 546-036 but Dorman sold them to a company called Ingalls Engineering. Ingalls part number is 56125 However they don't have any either and they make them, as I understand it. JBG turns out is getting / not getting the shims they sell from Ingalls. So full circle chasing my tail and never catching it. Clear as mud, I understand.
Anyone got a pair of shims I can buy?

bax,
I have a single what I remember was a AC Delco 1/2 degree shim and 1 adjustable shim up to 1-1/2 degrees. I had them on a 1976 D-44.

I would love to buy them from you. Was the d44 a disk brake?

Thats what I need, one side is worse than the other so the 1/2 and the 1 1/2 may work. Would you like to sell them???
