Dana 44 with 35s or Dana 60 with 37s?

I went back and looked at the pick, what's the concern with chopping off the leading part of the arm, plenty of meat left. They are still a 5x5.5 bolt spacing, so he doesn't need to buy new rims. Those scout knuckles are one of the highest knuckles you can get if you can still find a set, which will keep your tie rods out of the rocks.

Understood. IMO nothing wrong with a LP Dana 44 with a lockrite and 4.56 gears for 1,200. Frankly, it checks a lot of boxes for many people that are going to be driving primarily on the road to go get coffee with the occasional offroad excursion.
100% agree. And I'm often suprised at how many people need 37's to get to the grocery store...
