Hey all,
I just purchased a Derale Dual speed fan https://www.summitracing.com/parts/DER-16822
I purchased the fan because I read on the forum that some of y'all were using it. I am currently in the process of wiring it in using a dual temp sensor from an early 90's BMW and 2 relays(one for high setting and one for low). The wiring directions that come with the Derale unit are weak at best. It shows that the grey wire is the low speed and that the brown wire is the high speed. When testing the operations of the fan with my battery, I cannot tell any difference between the two speeds. However, when I put both of the brown and the grey wire to the positive terminal, the fan goes to a significantly higher speed. My question is this: when wiring the high speed relay, do I splice both the brown and the grey wire together? I am afraid that if I do not that the fan will stay at the low setting regardless of engine temp. Any advice from those run this fan is much appreciated.
