A possible solution for others who may be in my same situation. I recently had an issue while adjusting my upper ball joint. After torquing the lower I could get the adjuster to where it needed to be. 25 lbs of pull at the knuckle. Then once I tightened the upper ball joint nut, the pull on the knuckle was way out of spec. I repeated the whole process a few times with no avail. It was a bit frustrating until I pulled the adjuster and found this small piece of debris (photo attached) lodged in the gap of the adjuster. I removed it and immediately got the adjustment where I wanted it. This may be a known issue for most but I hope it saves someone a bit of aggravation and time. Have a great day.
