I need to remove my headlight switch. I found the plunger on the back and it moves freely. However, when I depress the plunger and pull the knob, the knob doesn't come out. Am I missing something?

What I did was disconnected the battery, then I pulled the switch nob to turn headlights on, then depressed the pin and wiggled the button while pulling. It eventually came out after finaggling it a bit.

You do need to twist it a little bit. There are three flat sides on the lever shaft. One has to line up with plunger for the knob and shaft to come out. A little wiggle and twist is all it takes.

Headlights on first
Then press button
Keep pulling the knob and shaft out of the switch.
