So I bought a 302 to be put into my 67 I am not sure what condition the clutch is in I was told by a vender that I should put a 200 dollar luk in. Is this correct should I salvage an older clutch or is this too risky.

Get a new clutch for it. I would hate to have to pull install the motor a second time to replace the clutch.

I just ordered a Luk clutch from partsgeek.com and it was around $100 for the kit.

X2 better off with a new clutch doesnt have to be a $200 clutch just new will work fine but then again dont buy the cheapest clutch out there either.

I'd have the flywheel resurfaced and install with a new bolt kit as well (never re-use those bolts, they are torqued). And a new pilot bushing/bearing and throwout bearing. You don't want to do it twice.

Take it apart and see what it looks like. I got one once that had a brand new clutch attached. Ran that for years behind a fairly stout 351 for year until I went to an automatic.

Go and buy a mid range and up priced clutch/pressure plate and put them in. A new throw out bearing would be in order order also. This way you know what you have from the start. The heartache and pita you save yourself is the reward for being smart upfront. Don't fall for "the best" or hoity toity brand name. Unless you are racing or extreme off reading, the "top of the line" at the local parts house is fine.
