Dual wiper degree wheel is nothing like what’s in WHs direction,

I’m thinking these dual wipers got an update that they don’t know about. I’m supposed to move it to the 80 degree slot by removing 2 screws, and then spinning the wheel while it’s on the gear to the correct location.

Well my screws are screwed in from the other side. I’m assuming I just pick the gear up and turn it, but idk. I don’t want to Ef up the time on it. Also my slots are in completely different places versus what the directions show. And the closest I have to 80 degree slot is 83 I’m sure that’s where I need to be probably. But I need to know how to get there.

Anyone else run into this?

Thanks

Side question, can I just run one wire for the park to both motors? It goes into one slot anyway. At first I was running 1 wire for each function and just splitting that wire to the other motor. But then I looked at the switch and decided that wouldn’t be great. I’m using 14 gauge wire.

Also should I be using 12 gauge from the battery to the switch?

Has anyone ever hollowed out the choke bezel before and ran their wipe switch through it?

All my spots are taken except for under the choke. And I’m afraid the roll bar might be a problem below it.

Yes, you can run the same 12V wire to both motors. It does not require two separate wires all the way from the switch.

Does your new switch include include the washer pump button? Then you can re-use the original wiper/washer location and remove the washer pump button you have there now.

In my opinion, you're fine with 14 awg wire.

You can also use a stock wiper switch or a later year Ford delay wiper switch with the dual motor setup. You just need to add two diodes to the low speed wires that go to each motor.

You still re-purpose that hole if the new switch you got in the kit has the "push button" to activate the washer pump.

O I see what you’re saying. No I’m supposed to run a wire from my washer switch to the wiper switch. I’ll probably just make a little sheet metal half box and attach it to the bottom of my dash and mount it there. Then get the roll bar in At some point and see if I have room to mount it under the choke cable I don’t use anymore.

Speaking of the choke cable, has anyone successfully turned it into a cruise control before?

Interesting idea. Obviously it would just hold the throttle in one place. It wouldn't account for actual speed differences or engine load differences. Could get interesting if it's in a cruise setting and then you step on the clutch, or put the gear shift in neutral. Brakes should be able to overcome it. You are your own safety mechanism at this point.

I saved all of the cruise parts off of an '86 pickup I scrapped. I've thought about adapting it into my '68.
