Does dynatrac build axles for Jeeps only? Or do they take custom orders for any vehicle? It seems they are set up for anything Jeep. I watched a couple of videos today of axle upgrades on newer jeeps. One was getting a new prorock 44 front and the other did a prorock dana 80 rear and a dana 60 front. The 80 and 60 were bought as a package deal. The axle tubes are built to take a beating.
I know these axles aren't cheap, but it would be cool to have a package deal like that for the bronco.
A super stout set of axles ready to roll under and bolt up in place of the stock axles. It would take the guess work out for guys who don't want to source parts at the pick-a-part, and then have to have the tubes shortened and all the other stuff that comes along with the process.

I've really been up in the air about what which axles to go with. Jeep guys seem to have it made with the aftermarket when it comes to axle set up. Maybe I'm just over thinking this whole process.

I did a search for Dynatrac prorock axles for early Broncos and the only thing that came up were for Jeeps.

They will work with you to custom build a set of axles for you. If you check with a few of our vendors they offer complete axle assemblies that are available with upgrades that make them very robust.

I got a quote 6 months ago for a 60/60 combo that bolted into my 75. 17k delivered to my door. It’s currently outside my budget parameters but one day I’ll be pulling that trigger.

Looks like I'll be getting a bb 9" and just beef up the d44. I would really love to have the 60`s from dynatrac, but $17k is just too much.

Did you even check with Dynatrac for what can be built and what they cost? A stock item is often a lot less expensive than a full custom axle.

I just did a 9" full custom, with just a limited slip, no brakes, and it was a breath under $5k. And I still had to build the brackets to install it. Custom one off stuff can be very expensive.

Theres alot of options for a beefed up 9" rear housing and axles. Bc had 9" front housings you can get set up for dana 44 or 60 outers. Not sure if they still sell em..

I got a three page detailed report from dynatrac and they are dream axles. High pinion with the pro rock housings and electric lockers ready to bolt in. All the options were checked. I know they have more affordable options, but I was dreaming when I got the quote.

Our Super-9 is free shipping right now, and already set up for the Bronco. Not inexpensive of course, but at $524 it's not out of the ballpark either.
You still need the axle shafts and brakes, but that's part of what is normally done for a rear end build when you have the housing already anyway.

I wonder if there is a market for a fully assembled 9" and you just choose the gear ratio?
Well, I know there is a "market" for that kind of thing. Just wondering if it's something OUR customers would look into positively?

Choices would be disc or drum, differential type and gear ratio. Pretty straightforward, but would the "total" price chase people off? Or is everyone already pretty well versed I wonder, in how much stuff costs when it's built vs pieced together?
Without adding up the parts exactly, I bet a drum brake, limited-slip, nodular center, 31-spline setup brake-to-brake already plumbed and ready to bolt in could be done for under $3,000.
Just a guess though. Those-that-know-this-stuff would have to put the final number on it.

Paul,
3k would be the sweet spot in my opinion with those limited but economical and sweet options.
I have tinkered with Curries 9inch rear ended builder and Somewhat limited options is over 4K

They do. I accidently found the shop that makes the front 9" axles for BC. I was in having my axle made up and saw the BC bronco racer on the wall and got talking to them about it. They don't sell many, but they still make them.

Paul,

I was checking out the complete 9" set up from Toms. It's pretty much like you said. Just pick the gear ratio and locker and its ready to bolt in. Comes with disk brakes.

I plan to call wild horses when it's time to buy and ask about buying that combo from them as a crate axle. It would be nice to have a crate axle that's ready to bolt in. I like the simplicity of it.

I feel that upgrading from small to large bearing does not give you any real benefits, us gear heads just hear there I a BB 9 and if we dont have that we want to upgrade.

Definitely look at each vendor when making a choice... they all rock.
