Well I ordered a BluePrint 347. I currently have a 97 Explorer swap running. I’m using EDIS. The current motor have really run great since I put it in a few years ago no issues at all. It’s getting tired which is why for for the upgrade. The Harness built by EFI guy. I want to keep all the electronics for the new motor. As I’m going through my parts list. The new motor is balanced 28.4oz. My old Explorer is 50oz. So I need to find a harmonic balancer with the tone ring.
Has anyone gone done what I’m talking about ? I really want to keep the EDIS.

Also I’m running a AX15 ...any clutch suggestions. The Center Force clutch when driven awhile has a shitty take off. No matter RPMs or have I feather the clutch it bucks. I want to Eliminate this. If I need to upgrade I will. I have to find a 164 tooth 28.4 flywheel too.

Have you considered having your harmonic rebalanced? damperdudes can help.

What do y’all think the clutch issue could be ? It has not always done this. But like I said as I drive it and get some heat to it. From a stop it’s not smooth at all . I’m looking for a good clutch that will work good with this motor

Assuming that the clutch you are currently running doesn't have ceramic facings (or some other non-organic friction material), it sounds like your flywheel is warped. Did you resurface your old flywheel or install a new one when you did the clutch?

I have had good experiences with LUK for stock replacement clutches. I am not sure how much power a stock-style clutch will hold though on a 302-based motor. I am running a ceramic/organic clutch from KY clutch on my Powerstroke (way cheaper than Southbend), and I have been very happy with it. It seems to engage a little faster than the stock clutch, and can be a bit jerky in reverse trying to back up a trailer, but not too bad at all in my opinion and can supposedly hold 500 HP.

I tried to use a Exploder harmonic balancer so I could run EDIS on my 418 and 460 motors. I am neutral balanced so they were going to balance it then highly recommended that I buy new. It wasn't much more and I went new.

Couple issues...the tone ring alignment...watch it to make sure it aligns with the crank sensor. Mine didn't. I had to do something to make it work. It was 5 yrs ago. Should be on my build thread. I remember Dampner Dudes and I sending balancers back and forth.

The new neutral balanced one works great.

Thanks guys ... I ordered Balancer from Damper Dudes ... they had one on the shelf ready to ship. 28 balance. I will check the teeth against the old one and make sure the sensor lines up.
The clutch is a Center Force II. I got it from Wild Horses when I did a AX15 swap. It was a new flywheel from them also. I’m planning on ordering new flywheel, I need a 28oz anyway. I plan on using a Ford Motorsport. I’m still researching what clutch to use. I liked the Center Force until it started this. Warped FW makes sense like I said it only does it when it gets hot and it gets worse the longer I drive.

Just an update guys , I ordered the Balancer from DamperDudes. Super fast shipping and looks awesome. I have not matched against my 50oz because it’s still on my motor. I’m sure it’s correct. The guy on the phone knew immediately what I needed.
