EFI Novice -- couple questions

So this is my first shot at dropping a fuel injected 5.0 in a Bronco. I got a complete motor including harness and computer out of a 91 non mustang car (I think it was a crown vic).

The first question:

The plenum is a drivers side but from what I have read most of the after market wiring harness are set up for the mustang passenger side style plenum? Is it as simple as finding a passenger side plenum and swapping it? Probably going to run the RJM harness.

I have also read that the drivers side plentum will have clearance issues around the master cylinder / brake booster?

Thanks for the help.

I guess when I write plenum I am probably referring to the upper intake. I have read that it is reversible?

It is reversible but you'll need a different fuel rail to reverse it.

If I go to a mustang upper intake do I have to change the fuel rail?

Yes. The issue with the rail has to do with the location of the fuel pressure regulator. With a driver side throttle body the regulator is on the driver side also. When you try to swap the upper to the other side it hits the regulator.

The upper intakes for both will bolt to the lower either way. The fuel rail only bolts on one way.

So, I could flip the upper intake and switch to the mustang fuel rail with the regulator on the passenger side?

From your signature I gather you are running the explorer intake? What is the advantage of it?

Thanks for the responses.

Yes. Better flowing, able to use a 65mm explorer throttle body, looks better.

Best year depends on if you plan to use EGR or not. '96-'97 have internal EGR passages if you want to use it. '98 and up are external EGR so it's easier to not use it.

In addition I believe the later models 99? or 2000, '01 use a returnless fuel rail so it will only have 1 fuel line running to the rail. You will need an earlier style to work.
