Last year I swapped motors in my Bronco. Debated putting EFI in but didn't. Went with Edelbrock 600 which was running good. My truck sits from October till Aprill but I start it every week or two. I put fuel stabilizer in it in Oct. Last week wouldn't idle or run. Had another carb, swapped it in and runs do carb problem again
Debating going Fuel injection , again
With the Holley kit, do you have to get the efi tank or can you mount a pump on the frame. Any recommendations, Holley vs Fitch? Saw another kit on ebay

Any EFI can have a frame mounted pump. The only issue is it can be a little noisy. Direct port will run better and be overall better. Fitech or any smart carb will run fine. But you leave a little on the table.

An external pump will work. A vane or roller pump will pull fuel, an impeller pump won't needs to be fed with fuel. Even the pumps that can pull fuel, won't pull very far.
There will be a return line. Attempts to avoid running a return line to the fuel tank will almost always end with drivability/starting/running issues.
After a lot of research, including going to SEMA and talking directly with FeTech and Holley reps, Holley is better. FiTech wins on being cheapest. Holley has a better tech department and better customer service from what I have seen.
Holley has a better design for the MAP sensor. It has a split path that reads left and right sides of the throttle body. This lets you run a standard dual plane intake with a divided plenum. FiTech has the MAP in one bore and often has issues running a dual plane intake. So much so that many time you will hear that you HAVE to run a single plane intake for the EFI to work right. No, just if you got the poorly designed EFI.
The one thing I don't like about the Holley is the ported vacuum is on the back of the throttle body. The issue is when you install the progressive linkage kit (so it works like a regular 4-barrel and you drive on the primary side at light throttle and the secondary open when you really mash it) you don't get ported vacuum for the distributor. But the Holley comes with computer controlled timing standard to fix this, it is an extra cost upgrade for FiTech.

Does the new Stelth version of Holley sniper have the progressi e linkage? It sure looks like the same linkage that's on my street avenger. They say it has the kick down provision too.

I would consider going with the Edelbrock kit over the Holley. Especially if you're looking at replacing the intake and distributor, both come with the Edelbrock system.
