I sold a Bronco last week and the guy that bought it has me doing a few upgrades. He text me the other day that he had ordered some electric retracting steps from build a bronco.com and asked if I could install them. They were $1300!!! Any one have any experience with these steps they are selling?

Damn yuppie bronco owners! Sure tell the guy youll install them for another $1300!

retractable steps have no place on a classic bronco! Tell him to trade the bronco in on a H3! Even my 60 year old mom dont have steps and she riden on 37's:cool: And that ant no lie! She just tosses out a stirrup and hops up in there! Now i know why dad married her!

I like the idea of the step it would make it easyer to get in mine since its 38" to the floorboard. It drops it down 7" below the bottom of the rocker and that would help getting my 76 year old dad in it when he wants to go for a ride with me.

Seems not everyone wants to build their Bronco to be just what you envision. You need to cut others some slack on what they are doing with their rigs. I get tired of reading your comments towards other members about what they should be doing, according to you.

Aren't these just the AMP research power steps? Not sure why the buyer would go through BAB to resell (and markup) unless they're selling customized brackets or something.

I've seen 2 builds on here with them. One is the hot Blue EB from BAB (likely their first experience with them), and another Red EB belonging to a Marine overseas who had a local builder install them. If you can find those threads you might get some install info.

The Icon Bronco has them as well but a shorter version, from what I understand from AMP they use a modified version for another vehicle, and don't sell a Bronco version unless things have changed since I last talked to them.

I guess I will post a thread on the install soon.

I will be watching.

My wife doesn't like having to "climb in" and I have a buddy whose wife has a real bad back. She loves to go wheelin' but has a hard time gettin in and out.

I hope not, cause the Bronco I sold the guy that wants then installed on has 3x4 square tubing for rockers.

I'm interested too on your install. I like nerf bars etc. but do not like how they look on the EB. I love the idea of the retracts so you get the best of both worlds, there when you need them, disappear wen you dont.

I wonder if the auxiliary gas tank gets in the way of these being installed. I bet ya!

I believe Driven 4x4 also sells them and yes you have to loose the auxiliary tank.
