I am putting everything back together with new floor pans, and I need a diagram or pictures of how the e brake comes through the floor and attaches to the support in the floor. I must be missing something because I cannot figure out what holds the cable to the support.

The end of the cable has split fingers that expand when i'ts pushed through the hole from below. Sorta like a chinese handcuff in reverse. They may be rusted and broken off.

do they hold to the support piece that is welded to the floor? I am talking about where the cable attaches to the e brake lever and the goes through the floor

the exterior cable housing goes through the welded flange and snaps into place in the welded bracket. The ears I mentioned earlier hold it in place. The inner cable should have a ball crimped over the end of the cable. The ball hangs in a small clevis loop on the end of the e brake lever.

Nope, as long as the spring steel ears are still intact and will push through the bracket then expand
