I'm being indecisive about the color the block of the 351w I'm building for my rig. Anyone have a favorite? The truck is red. Seriously considering the light ford blue, as I'm shooting for a mod-heavy restomod look. Pics are especially appreciated.

Blue is a bit of a clash with red. Are you doing the engine bay in red as well? If so I would avoid a blue engine. But if you black out the engine bay, blue could work.

I would just do the engine in black.

Are you doing any shiny bits? Anything in aluminum or chrome? I think that pops better against a black engine then a blue engine.

Factory look? Everything painted like a factory build, that gets real dull in all black.

Engine bay will probably be red. Might do bed liner on the firewall over heat and noise reducer. Aluminum edelbrock efi intake. Thinking blue block and heads with bare aluminum serp front dress.

I went with an industrial grey color for my 351W. Ford used this color in the 80s and 90s? The color fit my 77 Bronco because it's nothing fancy and a work horse for the trails.

My red Bronco has the original red engine bay and blue engine.

I'm keeping to a Ford blue engine, but thinking that the engine bay would look better in a gray, maybe hammertone or other textured finish.

I agree with ben. Cast coat grey. Looks like bare cast steel. I used it and it looks great. I used the finned bronco valve covers and painted the recesses cast coat grey too. Painted the explorer front dress cast aluminum and it all looked real good. To accent the engine bAy i used blue hoses and spark plug wires. Me bronco has patriotic theme goin on. Here is a oic but really cant see the cast coat grey paint
