4.0 V6 stuff interests me as well... Thought about a smaller scale project possibly.

It turns out I have more v6 coverage than I thought, no where close to all of it I'm sure. Just shoot me the PCM code and I'll look in to it. I also have a lot of mod motor support including V-10 stuff for anyone seriously ambitious, and should have Coyote support in the next month or 2 as well.

If you have a ex harness and all that. PM me and ill buy it for you .
I have lots of computers, a couple of engine harnesses and no firewall harnesses. Pm me with what year you need and I'll check.

Garry covers that in one of the later videos. He suggest using rubber spline , the type used to hold screen fabric in place.

I bought some round rubber rod that I'm going to experiment with, I didn't really like the spline on the spline but it worked. I'll post the results of this other stuff once I try it.

That is good to hear that things are on the upswing. Our continued thoughts and prayers are with you guys.
I'm looking forward to installing my harness this spring, and I can tell you this its a work of art. Your work is very much appreciated and I'm sure many guys are very happy and smiling knowing you are going to continue with your efforts to help us.
Thanks you very much and as always if you need anything from us just ask!!

Great to hear things are looking up for you Garry! Both of the harnesses that we have got from you have worked excellent, I'm glad to see that you will keep that going. You're still in our thoughts and prayers. I'll keep you in mind if I ever do venture into the V-6 world, or maybe the mod motor too! LOL

It's been quite a while since I've updated you guys, I haven't been on much at all. I've just been taking care of odd ball projects I've had and have been spending time with my wife. She's even managed to get this old fat guy to go to the gym with her on a semi regular basis.

So, first some good news... All of the wife's tumors (yes, they've found more) are benign! That doesn't mean that we are out of the woods, she still has really high white blood cell counts and some other issues with her blood work that they can't seem to figure out a cause for. They keep tossing around bone marrow biopsy as a possible next step. But, we'll take any good news we can get at this point. This whole thing has been so stressful on both of us that we came very close to splitting up. Fortunately we didn't and things are now going better than ever. I just want to thank you all for the prayers and positive vibes, they seem to be working so far!

So, I think I'm about a month out from taking in harnesses again. The current project I'm working on is shoehorning what may be the worlds biggest ESD workbench in to the worlds smallest home office. As if that wasn't a big enough challenge, I'm also adding linear actuators to it in an effort to save my back while working on harnesses. At least I won't freeze or sweat in the garage and no more being hunched over the dining room table when the weather is bad.

Once I'm done with that, I'm going to do 2 harnesses for my own personal projects and then I'll start taking harness orders. I know there are a few people in line already so new harness orders aren't likely to start shipping until April or so.

In an effort to maximize my free time (wife time) I'm going to do a few things a little differently. One of which will be asking you guys to strip all of the tape off from your harness before shipping it. It's time consuming and tedious but it's easy and I'd rather focus on the technical stuff. I'm also going to try and minimize my junkyard time so I'm going to ask that you provide any connectors that you want replaced. Most can be found in other cars, just clip em and ship em, I'll replace them.

Also, I'll probably offer 3 different harness options. One would be where I just do the firewall harness and send you the materials to do the engine harness. Again I'd do the technical stuff and let you do the easy side by following the videos. Another would be where I'd do both harnesses and let you wrap it. The the final would be the complete re-work and re-wrap. I'll figure out pricing when I get closer to taking in orders again.

Thanks again to all of you!

Great news! Happy to hear things are looking up for you and your wife.

I plan to pull the motor and harness from my 98 soon so when you're ready, I want to get in line.

Thanks,

I'd like to get in line too, I have a 96 Explorer complete ready to mate with a 97 351w block and a 98 4r70w tranny.

Great news on your wife, my wife and I battled cancer with our 5 year old daughter 9 years ago. Get in the Word (Bible), He will give you peace through it all.

Fantastic news Garry! Good things happen to good people!

I think you know I would like a harness from our prior PMs, so I will just wait until you are ready to take them. Let me know.

Well after 4000 miles with 98 Explorer EDIS my Bronco just died while driving it at 45 mph? I had been driving it all day without issue.
Got it restarted a few times, but not for long. It ran poorly. I got it restarted and running long enough to limp it home... No check engine light during that time (3-5 minutes)

Once I made the driveway it would not restart. Spins over like a champ.
Scan tool will not link with ECU... I attempted it a few times.
With Ign on, fuel pump stays running, no cycling for a few seconds and shutting off.
I have a steady 40 lbs of fuel pressure.

That is as far as I got this weekend... I am thinking that the ECU has an issue...

I have a call to DR Garry, but open to other thoughts...

Did you check the TFI module? ;D

I had a consult with the Dr. this afternoon... Based on my description it appears that my ECU has crashed...
The 1st one to do so... I really dislike being the 1st sometimes
I am going to put my spare in tomorrow and return the dead one to EFI Guy for review/dissection.

I have been thinking and wanting to avoid this exact scenario. My 1998 donor explorer has a NRT1 pcm. I have found a couple PCC1 pcms. Are each interchangeable or does the backup pcm have to be an exact match?

904, I'm glad you guys are getting it figured out.

I put my back up ECU in and all seems well... I did 20 miles around town and no issues.
I pulled this out of another 98 Explorer from Pick n pull and sent it to Garry to be reworked.
Hoping this is an isolated incident.

Garry will be getting my crashed ECU shipped to him next week, so hopefully there will be some feedback to share.

Garry needs to chime in on this, but mine were PCC1's

NRT1 and PCC1 will interchange just fine, you're good to go there.

Glad to hear that!

Well, I'm finally finished with my workbench. So....Time to start on harnesses! Hopefully the climate controlled environment and the new ergonomics will help me crank them out a little faster.

I currently have 6 here in my possession, 2 of which need to be finished in time for Super Celebration. So hold off on sending me any right away. I'll Pm those of you that stated you wanted a place in line when I get closer to ready for them.
