My 97 has a PCM code of XDT2. I want to grab another PCM at the JY so I can send both to you at the same time. Does XDT2 interchange with any other PCM codes?
Thanks,

XDT1-XDT3, or INJ0.

I will keep EGR, but removing EVAP.
So I guess VSS should stay. However, I wonder where to plug it in a manual transmission?

Yes I am taking the entire firewall harness. Not under the dash harness.

Do I need ignition switch and key assembly?
The engine will go into W123 Mercedes, not a bronco.

Thanks you

If it's a Ford m/t with provisions for a speedometer, then use a Fox Mustang VSS. Some later transmissions may have a VSS already. No need for the ignition switch components.

I have a question;
If I decide to remove the wires that I don’t absolutely need at the C115 connector
But I keep their counterparts on the other side of the the C115 connector (the side that connects to PCM connector)and by this I don’t need to open up the loom/wire in the PCM side of C1 15

Other than having extra weight of the unneeded wires, is there any side effects from taking this approach?

Note: I am keeping EGR

Cool diagram Rabee. Did you happen to get an answer to your last question from the 25th?
I don't see what it would hurt to leave them even though they're no longer functional. But I'm not an expert in the field either.

Good luck.

I did not specifically get an answer for my question, however my commonsense tells me it wouldn’t hurt to leave them other than having a thicker bundle of wires that you don’t need some of them.

It appears that the latest Tapatalk update broke my notifications again..

Good job on the diagram! It made me realize that I never added my similar diagram to this thread, so I'll get that one added too.

You are correct that it doesn't hurt to leave unused wires in the harness. I just like cleanliness and removing all of the duplicate colors in case you need to diagnose something later. In fact, you can leave the engine and transmission harness completely untouched if you want. You'll just have extra plugs and unused wires. You might also need to pull the IAC and TPS plugs back through the loom if removing the EGR elbow.

I have a generic OBDII port and I need to tie in a '99 Explorer harness. Does anyone have a pinout?

*FOUND IT!* Around the 48 minute mark you can make out the pin locations on the back of the OBDII connector. After swapping the wires around it worked perfect.

Thanks for the information share and the PCM flash!

So I been thinking on the later style fuel pump that is returnless. Some guys seem to be adapting their explorer fuel pump module into the top of their factory tank??? Why couldn't i take the factory tank pickup and clamp the pump and regulator on it? Maybe add a bracket to clamp pump too? Then I don't need to cut tank on top side where it can't be accessed as easily!

Sounds like a lot of work to get properly laid out in the smaller EB plate and at the different angle.
But it's probably doable and would certainly be a cool mod if you could to it right and maintain all the functions!

Still, cool or not, I'm betting that cutting a big hole in the top of your stock tank turns out to be easier. So will likely be more appealing to more owners.
You should try it!;D (said in his most encouraging voice!);)

The later Explorer return-less EFI has a regulator built into the pump module, as well as the pump and pick up sock. Pressure is regulated in the tank.

Are you going to plumb an external regulator with a line return as well...?

Ok so on cutting that hole in top. What all needs to be done after cutting top hole ? Do I have to weld nuts or something to tank to hold module in? I can weld but not real fond of it on a gas tank ? And do you have to modify the hieght of the module ? Any writeups

Yes looks like on the module the regulator is just plumbed on like a relief above the pump. So idea was clamp it on the short line then pump basically the same as explorer module but built on the stock pickup tube. It's Been like 8 years since I've hd mine out though so I might not be thinking right.

This is pretty far away from a harness rework.
Your question would get more attention and answers in its own thread.

Easy segué for sure! And since we are discussing Explorer pumps and even have pics here a few pages back, it's a natural.
But I can see syk's making a good point. Since the pump swaps (various types) have been discussed in other threads, a new thread of your own (or join one of the others) would definitely make sense.

Can get a few more comments about it from those that have done it so far.

Good luck!

And speaking of retrofit pump setups...
Here ya go 450rBronco. Holley is thinking along your same wavelength.

IMG_3838 (Large).jpg

In-tank pump with internal bypass, sending unit and EFI style sock filter.
All on an OE style lid.
Now if they just make sure to come out with one based on the Ford 73-10 range (instead of the usual GM stuff only) and make it so that it can be bent and tweaked to fit various tanks, we're in business.

Start your new thread about that!;)

Are you still converting these wire harnesses? I have a Mercury Mountaineer for my engine and transmission. I will be using both from the MM. W
What is the cost and lead time? Thanks JB.
