Just installed the Explorer front dress on a 5.0 block and the 6.4" balancer (28.0z) just barely clears the lower water pump bolt boss. It does clear, but its close. Normal?

Thanks

On some of the aftermarket balancer's you will have to clearance the water pumps to get them on.

I would take a little off the water pump to be on the safe side. There is plenty of meat there, so you won't hurt anything.

Since it's not the original Explorer damper, is it already assembled with one of the adapter pulleys and you know the belt lines up?
Just checking since not all Ford pulleys are created equal (sized) and would hate to see you put a lot of effort into one that's not going to be compatible anyway.
If it's all set up and lined up however, then it sounds like a simple fix.
