Hi was wondering if thread lock is required on large fan clutch nut with the mountaineer fan clutch? The nut screws on clock wise and with the fan turning counter clockwise if it loosened up she would spin off. I had a hell of a time trying to remove clutches on several vehicles before I found one that came off. I am almost done with my swap and will be ready to try and start her up this Saturday. While I was at it I had roller rockers. aluminum heads, cam and headers installed. The serpentine system looks pretty sweet, will let you know how she runs.

I wouldn't use thread locker there. The force of the fan will keep it tight.

Yep, I wouldn't loctite it either. I think engine rotation keeps it tight rather than loosening it...

Have you tried to remove a fan clutch from the water pump yet?

The drag of the fan puts a tightening force on the nut. It isn't going to come loose.
