With no consideration toward what it costs, which front serpentine setup would you use if you also use the BC bronco's/Vintage A/C unit and hydroboost:

1) Explorer Serp

Pro: Cheaper? However you need a balancer for explorer.
Con: Fitment with lower crossmember, different A/C hoses than supplied in kit. might not work the best with hydroboost. Rad hoses need to be moded or rad needs modding.

2) Mustang Serp
Pro: all in one kit, off shelf parts from BC, hoses fit, no frame interference, better HB steering pump instead of tiny explorer pump.
Con: Fitment of front fan blades, cannot use thermostatic clutch which BC says is not the best to use anyway.

I'm still undecided...

I'd still do the exploder setup. If I remember right you can order Chucks kit without the compressor or the hoses, so that you can simply use the exploder compressor and have the ac shop make the correct hoses...

As for the crossmember fitment issue, it only takes about 1 minute with a flap wheel on your grinder to remove about 1/4" off of the bottom of the passenger side bracket. The damper can be rebalanced (www.damperdudes.com) to the correct 28oz, you you can buy the adapter pulley from Driven. For the radiator, use a crossover pipe and you can use stock Bronco hoses with a little trimming and a slight twist on the top hose... No biggie.

check my build thread... I went with the 5.0 Mustang serp, March Pulleys and BC's A/C kit... happy so far with the fit

I have a Mustang serp on the spare engine in th garage. I also have an Explorer front drive in a box on the shelf. I have no intention to use the mustang stuff, but the Explorer stuff will be used.

Nothing wrong with the Explorer pump, it is a very good one.

I think a thermostatic fan is the best way to go. Of course anyone who is a halfway decent salesman will tell you that the parts they sell are better then the other choices out there.
