Fender dings, backwards kinds. WTF?

Yeah I am getting dings from the inside of my fenders. It started with one and I didn't put two and two together until I saw two more.

I have a dirt driveway with gravel, a new paint job, and new gravel grabbing tires. Now I'm getting these little buggers pushing outwards giving me spider cracks in my paint. I'm going to lose my mind if I ever find it again.

Anyone have this problem before? Any ideas or fixes? I was thinking of spraying copius amounts of rubber undercoating up in the fender but the stuff I have seems to disappear kind of quick from past experience. Option 2 is attaching some sheet rubber up in there somehow as a backstop.

I know one or two of you geniuses has a better idea than I do. ;D

There are inner guards available. Pretty sure I just saw them in a Wild Horse website.

Now this is exactly what I was expecting from the classic board, first post. Bam! Seriously, I had no clue those existed. I will be installing a pair of those soon. Kudos to you good Sir.

I have seen them for the front, nothing available for the rear. Stone guards as they are dubbed, run about $90.

The liners are a good start, but it wouldn't hurt to apply some 3M rubberized undercoating as well just as backup. My fenders aren't nice, so it doesn't matter, but if I ever do get a good, clean pair of front fenders for 5 minutes, then that's what I'm doing. As for the durability of the 3M stuff, I've actually found it to hold up really well. I've even used it on exterior stuff (a fuel door on my brother's Toyota) comes to mind, and topcoated with Rustoleum rattle can black, it's lasted over 10 years without issue.

I clicked on the link and the pic shows a front fender and the description says for front fenders. Looks like all the info you need is there. I also have numerous "zits"

I lined the front and rear of mine with 1/16" HDPE , high density poly ethylene. A whole 4x8 sheet in black only costs about $50 here
I ran the liner right out under the fiberglass flare to prevent damage to the flare also. Been using them for more than 15 years with excellent results.

Get your driveway paved?;D;D

The only problem with paving 500' of dirt driveway is that it would take away enough money for a second Bronco Dave. And I'd much rather have a second Bronco. Wait, I do have a second Bronco, make that a third! :p

How'd you attach it? Pics?

I have a fiberglass body. I used screws and pop rivets. For those with a metal body I would rivet from the inside into a piece of alum sq. tube and then screw the liner into the tube. On my wifes truck , which is all metal I welded tabs on before I undercoated. The liners on her truck screw into the tabs.

Shove a large stick of that foam you put over water pipes for insulation up there. Wont have that rock on metal sound when it hits them - and cheap to replace. ;)
