Got a little more progress. Going to be cutting it close for Supercelebration.

Hi Lane, Festus is looking fantastic. I have a few questions about your AC install. My Bronco body is going to a shop this month for restoration. I was going to have them raise the cowl on the passenger side as Tom had done to the Duck build. I see that you did not raise the cowl on your build. Are you planning to try and use the original fresh air intake for factory heater to get fresh air to the AC unit? And how well is the unit fittings for you. I'm just wondering if raising the cowl and deleting the fresh air intake is a good idea. Sure would be nice to figure out a way to supply and blend in outside air with the interior air. Have you figured out a way to do this? Sure would like to see it before I do something, I may regret.

Regards

Fred

Hey Fred,

Thanks for the compliment. I am using the explorer front serpentine system so I routed the hoses out by the battery and under the passenger fender. I drilled the holes in the air box under the fender and routed them through it. I did use the four hole vent cover that comes with the vintage air kit but will use the driver vent for “fresh air” when needed. I thought about leaving the vent open but then cold air would come in during the winter and my wife won’t like that. Lol. I am using the Bailie bilt stone guards to cover the hoses.

Hopes this helps, Lane.

I have been working on the bronco nearly everyday. A buddy of mine (Fred) has been coming over to help a couple of nights each week. He has really helped me make progress especially with the wiring, a/c hose routing and those two man jobs.

Got the transfer case cross member built and at the powder coater.

Some parts are on back order. I hope to start it tomorrow night. It will not be finished by Supercelebration but if I can get it running and driving I am planning to bring it.
