Thanks to all who posted pics and write ups on home job rock sliders.
I ended going thru Admin's gallery and doing it pretty much just like that.
Our last trail run I just had cut rockers and it was a little sketchy.
Super happy with the results and final stance.

Those look great, I could have used a set like that down in Moab on Saturday. Not to steal your thread, but I've seen alot of Broncos with the rockers cut out like that, what is the easiest was to do it, and what did you use for the sliders?

Those look sick! I want to do this but I don't understand what you welded the square tubing too... any build pics or does Admin have a build thread?

Admin does have a build thread plus some extra pics in his gallery.

Only materials purchased were two pieces of 3/16x6"x60" tubing cut to length and ends capped. I think Admin did a little thinner Ga.. These are pretty heavy.

I really didn't take any in process pics because it has been documented in some other threads.

I cut all the sheet metal with a 4" grinder with a 1/8" cut off wheel on it. Makes quick pretty accurate work.

No frame tie in. I just furred the inside of the rocker with some 1/2 square tubing and left the back side of rocker float down(about an 1 1/2")the back of the slider and welded.

On the top they taper from front to back as the front flares stick out a little more.

X2 on the link to Admin's build. Thanks and Greta JOb Again,

On my 2002 wrangler I used the poison spyder ones and they just bolted on to the sheet metal (body) not frame. since I have a 2" BL, I will see if I can tie them together front and back and with poly bushings to the frame, or to the existing body mounts.
Although I will not do any rock crawling, it is more of an look things, but as functional as possible.

Could you list the top and bottom length of your rock sliders please? Are you also using WarFlares?

Thanks.

Throw some extensions on them and weld them to the frame.

Duct tape might work, too. ;D
